| Darling, let me tell you something. I got pregnant at 18, and had a baby at 19. I was an ADULT. I made my own decisions and I decided to have sex. I had been having sex for three years and was just lucky that I never got pregnant before I did. It happens, and it doesn't make me anything but human. Every human being on earth has done things that they come to regret. What matters is not what you did, but what you plan to do about it. It sounds like you are making the best of your situation. Babies are never mistakes. Ideally they would come after women are married and in a stable relationship with enough money to live, but this almost never happens these days, so don't for one second let anyone make you feel bad about getting pregnant. Here is my advice: enjoy your pregnancy! The morning sickness sucks, having to get up in the middle of the night to pee sucks, and yes- labor sucks too! But there are great things about pregnancy that you should focus on instead. There will be ultrasounds. If you decide to keep the baby, you can look forward to a baby shower. You will start to feel the baby kick, and remember that the epidural is the greatest invention EVER! After it is all said and done you get to hold this wonderful beautiful innocent baby and you will love him or her in a way that you can't even begin to imagine until it happens. Remember that just because you have a baby does not mean your life is ruined. You can still go to college. You can still travel. Babies are portable! You can take them with you! Yes, things are a little harder with a little one, but there are ways around them. Life is what happens when you are busy making plans. Nothing ever goes the way we expect it to. All we can do is go with the flow and make the best out of it. |
